The NMM UPnP AV server is a purely software-based solution and provides following benefits.
Standard UPnP AV server functionality. |
Enables access to and also control of all devices and sources of media in the network: Accessing TV, such as DVB-S, DVB-T, accessing tracks from CDs, access to DVDs, access to camers, IPTV, WebTV, ... or or any other input device available in the network of NMM. |
As an example, the NMM UPnP AV server even enables channel-hopping (also called 'zapping') to be controlled by UPnP AV renderers, and even presents EPG data on these devices. |
Support for new devices or sources of media can be added at any time. |
Support for handover: A media presentation started on one device at a certain location can be seamlessly handed over to a second device at a different location. This feature is available for all supported kinds of media, e.g. files, TV, CD, DVD, cameras, ... |
All these features are available for existing and unmodified UPnP AV renderers. |
Available for different hardware platforms and operating systems: Linux, embedded Linux, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X, ... |
