The Event Capture system consists of hardware and software.

Small setup of the Event Capture system: Two systems for capturing are used, with two cameras and a mircophone attached to each system. A single system for directing is available. Two systems for presenting the final stream on large screens are used. All systms are connected by commodity IP networking technology.

The hardware of the overall Event Capture system includes a number of capturing systems, a distinct workstation for the "director", and a number of systems for presenting the final content.

The Event Capture hardware provides following benefits

	Employs high-quality yet inexpensive commodity PC hardware for capturing, processing, and presenting audio/video.
	Is connected by inexpensive commodity LAN or WLAN networks.
	Can be seamlessly integrated into existing network infrastructures.

The Event Capture software is based on our core technology NMM (Network-Integrated Multimedia Middleware) and provides following benefits

	Scalability of capturing: Allows for using and controlling a large number of distributed capturing devices, also located at different locations, from a single workstation.
	Scalability of presentation: Allows to present the generated final stream on a large number of systems, at different locations connected by LAN/WLAN networks.
	Synchronization: Although commoditiy LAN/WLAN networks are used, presentation is done in perfect synchronization between systems, i.e. no offsets in audio/video rendering.
	Easy-to-use and customizable user interface, which allows even a novice to become the "director" of a event.
	In contrast to existing systems for capturing, directing, producing, and recording live events, Event Capture can be operated by a single user.
	Large number of supported input/output devices.
	Large number of supported audio/video codecs.
	High-quality digital content ranging from DVD quality to HD quality.
	Can be combined with Motama's videowall solutions for presentation.
